How much snow
- NOAA’s 1991–2020 normal at Hancock Airport is about 128 inches a year (127.8). One local weather site lists 123.8, which we could not reconcile.
- A weather account on X lists the last five winters as 87.6, 73.3, 76.0, 65.6 and 60.8 inches, all below normal. It is a social post, so check NOAA’s own table.
What it means
Lake-effect snow comes in bands, so a town ten miles north can get a very different winter. Heating is a real line in the budget, covered on the Taxes and utilities page.
Winter driving, snow tires and garage versus street parking are not researched here yet.
