The site
White Pine Commerce Park sits at the northeast corner of Route 31 and Caughdenoy Road. The area is described as a hard traffic zone where Routes 31 and 11 meet I-81.
Road work
- Clay’s supervisor said Route 31 in front of the site is still two lanes and will need widening, and cited $200 million of infrastructure improvements negotiated by the county executive and governor for tight spots at the Cicero–Clay border.
- The county’s environmental findings list off-site highway work, and the Route 31 and Lakeshore Road intersection is named as a capacity and safety concern.
- A state-listed OCIDA project lists $6.2 million for infrastructure, including a sewer line, a new road lane and a traffic signal. Its status shows slow progress.
