Who is building
- TI’s careers page says SM1 is open and in production, and construction is complete on SM2, with potential for four fabs.
- A TI job posting dated October 19, 2026 describes the project as in the early phases of building construction and utility installation. The two may refer to different parts of the campus.
- A TI Sr. Construction Manager posting says the role manages subcontractors but gives no crew size.
- A Texas licensing record for the SM1 Fab2 building lists an estimated cost of $219,529,740 and a completion date of March 13, 2025. It covers one building, and the dates do not match the 2026 picture.
What it means
Fab construction pulls in electricians, pipefitters, millwrights, welders and laborers. Counts below move fast and come from mixed sources, so read them as a picture of scale, not a headcount.
