Where Micron Boise stands
Boise is the closest project to opening. The dates have moved earlier, not later, this year.
- ID1. Micron’s guidance is first wafer output in mid-2027. Idaho News and a June 2026 Tradeline article both say it remains on track.
- ID2. Expected in late 2028.
- Construction. BoiseDev’s June 2026 aerial tour showed significant parts of the structure in place. One outlet reports equipment arriving in late 2026.
- Earlier slips. Micron first said production would start in 2025, then 2026, and now 2027.
- Money. Micron’s CHIPS Act funding of up to $6.4 billion covers two Idaho fabs, two New York fabs and a Virginia expansion.
Reports that progress is “ahead of schedule” come from secondary outlets. Micron’s own guidance is the mid-2027 date.
